Exploring has taught me so much about courage, belonging, and what it means to feel fully present in a place.

Over the last few years, I’ve had the chance to visit 5 continents (with more adventures still ahead), and each destination has left a different mark on me. Some places stood out not only for their beauty—but for the feeling they created: openness, warmth, and the freedom to simply be.

In honor of Pride Month, I wanted to share 8 LGBTQ+ friendly destinations that felt especially welcoming to me—and why they’re worth experiencing.

San Francisco’s creative energy, colorful neighborhoods, and deep sense of community made this city feel welcoming from the moment I arrived. It’s a destination that feels expressive, vibrant, and unforgettable during Pride Month and beyond.

There’s a reason San Francisco is often part of LGBTQ+ travel conversations.

The city feels expressive, creative, and deeply rooted in community. From colorful neighborhoods to beautiful waterfront views, there’s an openness here that feels natural rather than performative.

I especially loved walking through the city and feeling the mix of history, individuality, and freedom that makes San Francisco unforgettable.

Sydney’s beautiful harbor and bright city energy felt open, joyful, and inspiring. It’s one of those destinations where adventure and authenticity naturally go hand in hand.

Sydney feels bright, joyful, and incredibly open.

There’s something about the harbor, beaches, and city energy that feels expansive. It’s a place where you can explore during the day and still feel connected to a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere.

We continue our Australian journey toward Melbourne, which has a creative energy all its own.

It feels expressive and thoughtful—filled with art, cafés, and neighborhoods that encourage curiosity.

I loved wandering through the city and feeling how many people were simply showing up as themselves.

Between neighborhoods, cafés, and evening walks, I found moments that felt both peaceful and energizing.

Florence felt inspiring from the very first walk through the city. Surrounded by art, history, and beautiful streets, it felt like the perfect place to slow down and fully enjoy the experience.

Final Thoughts

They’re the places where I felt comfortable, inspired, and connected to something bigger.
