WATCH THE SUNRISE

It is an incredible feeling to watch the sun rise. It lets people, animals and all know the day is beginning and provides much needed light to the earth. Making time to watch the sunrise when you traveling helps you adjust to jetlag and time zone differences as well as put a smile on your face knowing an exciting day is on the way!
MEDITATE

A favorite of mine no matter if I'm traveling or getting ready for work is meditating. Even for a couple of minutes in the morning, meditation is so helpful in getting you grounded and staying focused all day long. In addition, meditation helps:
Enhance your self-awareness and self-possession
Increase gratitude
Feel more balanced and harmonious
Improve concentration
More energy
Lower cortisol levels to reduce stress
Better problem solving and decision-making skills
When meditating, ensure you are in a quiet space and in a comfortable position. Make sure your space has positive vibes and good lighting. You can incorporate things you enjoy that help you relax such as aromatherapy. If you are new to meditation, there are several apps you can download such as Headspace or Calm that provide guided meditations.
READ A BOOK

How enjoyable it is to have a cup of tea or coffee with a good book 😌 Reading a book has so many benefits such as enhancing your intellect, bringing out your creativity and reducing stress. When packing, make sure to bring a book that you can read while traveling and when you wake up in the morning to provide a boost to your day.
LISTEN TO MUSIC

Another favorite of mine is to sing and dance in the morning when I'm getting dressed and starting my hygiene regimen. Whether you just want to listen or get your groove on, listening to music in the morning is a fantastic way to start the day by getting you energized, enhancing creativity and putting you in a good mood. Create a playlist of some of your favorite songs and artists along with music that is popular at your destination to help you learn some foreign words, gain a better understanding of your destination's culture and connect with locals.
PLAN FOR THE DAY

The morning sets the pace for the day. Keep it organized by writing a plan or itinerary for your day. Include items such as:
What you want to wear
Scheduled activities
Free time
It is very important to incorporate flexibility in your schedule to prepare for unexpected things such as delays and cancellations. Adding unscheduled, free time to your plan helps you to feel calmer and get the most out of your travels.
EAT A BALANCED BREAKFAST

We are what we eat. Take care of your health and wellbeing by starting your day with a balanced breakfast while traveling. A lot of hotels and accommodations throughout the world include breakfast when reserving a room with options including brunch and à la carte. When eating breakfast, ensure to include:
Protein such as eggs and ham
Dairy products such as milk and yogurt
Healthy carbs such as oatmeal and brown rice
Vegetables as such spinach and tomatoes
Fruits such as watermelon and guava
